Barton Creek Greenbelt off 360 South

I am referring to the Barton Creek Greenbelt sign off of 360 South out by Barton Creek Mall. It is near the north bound access road of Mopac but on 360.

Is this one called something? There is a big sign that says Barton Creek Greenbelt but that is such a generic name.

I have been running down there maybe 3 years ago. I moved south and it is almost on my way home now. Now the weather is getting nicer, I want to start running there.

Anyone go that route? How long is it to the end?

Technically, it's the southern edge of Gus Fruh Park.

It's generally just known as the Loop 360 trailhead for the greenbelt.

It's about 3.5 miles from there to Zilker, and about 4 miles to the end of the trail in Westlake. See a map:The Link

That is awesome map. Thanks.

So it looks to be about 2.5 mile round trip run from that starting point to the Gus Fruh pool? Is that swimmable?

I think when I went, we started off 360 at that entry but then went west to the left. We ended up at some waterfall. What is that on the map?

I went running there today after work.

I think we missed the trail somewhere. We started at the 360S entrance. We got lost a bit and ended up at the back of Sam's out by Academy & Best Buy off 71 near Mopac. We were trying to go to Twin Falls but I guess never made that turn???

We saw the back of Sam's and then basically back-tracked from there back to where we started.

Sounds like you found a mountain biking trail we call "Sweet 16" (because it crosses the creek sixteen times) that branches off of the main Barton Creek Greenbelt trail.

The next time you go there, make a sharp right after the second dry (may be wet now, so you'll use the ledge and hand chain deal staying on the east side of the creek) creek crossing to rejoin the main trail continuing to Twin Falls and beyond, or if the creek is still dry, you can cross about 10-20 yards past the Mopac bridge to your right. This will take you to Twin Falls/Sculpture Falls/Hill of Life, etc on the west side of Barton Creek.

Hope that makes sense.
