Is there any reason why a drink with say rum and orange/pineapple juice won't keep for a good while refrigerated. The wife thinks the Goombay Smashes won't keep for several days.

does OJ last a few days in the fridge?

they might not taste as fresh, but there shouldn't be any spoiling.

Yeah, the OJ is going to be sitting in the fridge anyway. I just don't think adding booze to it is going to ruin it any faster. I doubt they are going to last very long anyway.

Thanks. By the way, a Goombay Smash is 1 part OJ, 1 part Pineapple J, 1 part coconut rum and 2 parts light rum. It's even better with a little coco loco, but that tends to congeal and make little pieces of rice in your drink. Each little cay and bar in the Abacos has their signature rum/boat drink and this one comes from Miss Emily's Blue Bee Bar on Green Turtle Cay. I highly recommend it.

It's one of those closely guarded recipes and may not be exact, but it's very tasty and not all girly. Sounds like you have an "in" with the Texas contingent for your TDF jaunt. And sounds like there might be a big party. Hope you get to stay for a while. My big vacation this year is a week in Port A. At least I won't have to go to the beach. Much.
