This is mainly for the older posters. Bart Star was a world championship qb for Green Bay in the 60s. I saw this commercial while watching Super Bowl 2 which was won by Green Bay. I think it used several famous people in it because the first man was in many funny tv shows at the time as a supporting or guest star. I think Bart is driving the mustang that leaves the football player no. 22 in the dust. Maybe no. 22 is famous also so maybe one of you might know but I am mainly trying to find out if Starr is the driver. If not the man has a strong resemblance to him which would be why maybe they used him. His hair color is not the same but they may have changed it temporary. It makes sense that they are having irony that the woman rejects the football player for the great NFL QB. Do you think it is him?

At first, I didn't think it was Bart Starr either. But Ford Motor and Starr did have a relationship. The Link

Photos of that era also show strong resemblance. Add to that the football theme of that vignette and its a good case for being Starr.

The actor looked a little like him but that wasn't Bart Starr.
#22 on the Packers was Elijah Pitts, and that wasn't Elijah Pitts, who I'm pretty sure was black.
That wasn't a Packers jersey either. It looked more like a Colts jersey.
Sorry.

Thanks for everyone's input everyone and you are right because it is NOT Bart Starr even though he does resemble him and I am sure that was probably why Ford used him in that ad. I didn't think of it before but I emailed to a good friend of mine that was raised near Green Bay and was a big fan when Bart Starr was the QB and still is today of course. He looked at the ad and was very emphatic that even though there was some resemblance it was NOT him. Still I wouldn't be surprised if Ford sold some extra Mustangs because people thought it was him.
