Kinda hard to blame him. If you have the brains to go to Stanford, it's a great place to learn about life as well as how to play football. I think OSU is a good school and has a good football program, but I wouldn't advise anyone to turn down a Stanford scholarship to go there.
From a selfish point of view, glad he will not be in Big 12 Conference. I hope he gets a great education and has a fine college career but glad we won't face him 4 times.
Excellent move for all the reasons stated above...and, he honored his pops by not going to Mobilhoma - who apparently were never in the picture even though they are literally just down the road from where he lives.
This is really refreshing after hearing countless stories of parents wanting this, or that and their sons to go here, or there. Good for him in making up his own mind and good for his parents for respecting his decision.
I heard his interview. He was injured. His treatment and rehab was at or near Stanford. That is how he became familar with the school and players. He said he is going there for his future. Smart guy.
I would have preferred he stay in B12. We need to get better, not hope other come done below us. However, he picked an outstanding college to spend the net 4 yrs... best of luck
I for one will miss being able to see Jr. game in, game out if he had stayed in the Big 12 and committed to Ok. St. With that said, I liked how his parents stood behind the scenes and let him chose the place where he wanted to go... all the best to him!
