I always believe that Barne's team will be good if not great when we have upperclassmen playing major minutes for him. I'm not talking about the players leaving for the NBA. I'm talking about Mike Williams and Dion Dowell. This year's team will be even better with them. If they had been patient and accepted guidance, they would have developed (see Atchley) and been an integral part of a team who's a heavy favorite to win the Championship.
Of course I could be wrong and they could have been cancerous and destroyed chemistry.
Having said all this, I'm stoked about this year's team. Hopefully, our sophomores will all turn to juniors next year. Add all the injured players(Hill, Balbay, etc.) to the mix I really think we have as good a chance as anyone to win it next year. The next year when Mason, Hill, Pittman are seniors, our team will still be really good. Add a few stud recruits and we're still in the hunt.
