Barnes Sitting Down?

TN HORNS

One of the many things that I love about Rick Barnes was that he never sat down during a game. There wasn't even a chair for him. However, I have noticed this season that he sits down during games.

Does anybody know if he is having some health issues, or have his legs taken too much from squating?

Refs being a lot stricter on the coaches this year, and have been told to call T's ANYTIME the coach leaves his coaching box, so he sits more i have noticed. but hey, we're doing alright. thery had a report on this on ESPN or something, one of the college coaches has a seatbelt on his chair, pretty funny stuff

From what I understand from people who would know, it's an acknowledgement from Barnes that he's getting older.

I think he's trying to let DJ lead

It's not the refs.

Bo Ryan never sits down during games. Ever. In fact, if you look at our bench, we don't even have an empty seat for him.

Hey SL, happen to check the Big Ten standings recently?

We got the edge in the sense Sparty comes to Madison and we don't go there. And Bo owns Izzo.

I think we will lose in Bloomington.

Would have been nice to have Illinois beat Indiana tonight......but I am enjoying the complete debacle and disgrace Illinois hoops have become. Just hilarious how that fan base trashed Bill Self and didn't give him any credit for 04.......and now their doofus coach can't even get them to the NIT. Karma.

I've wathced (and won some money) on wiscy a bunch lately. They are a very good basketball team. They play posession basketball and play very solid defense. They are a potential elite 8 and a surprise final 4 team.

Back to the main topic of the thread....The reason for barnes sitting more is probably a combination of a couple of the previous things posters mentioned. But the biggest factor is the rule change. With that said, as the season goes on the refs are going back to the old ways of not enforcing that rule as much. It's a stupid rule to begin with, but don't get me started on that topic....

Wisconsin has done well, AustinBadger. I was especially impressed with the pounding they gave Indiana in Madison.

I'm still bitter about the loss in Austin, but Wisconsin has certainly proven me wrong so far about how well they match up with MSU and the Hoosiers. I also noticed how Wisconsin went into Iowa a game after MSU's debacle down there and took care of business.

Purdue looks like the surprise in the Big Ten, with the sweep of Wisconsin Saturday for their 9th straight win. Next up MSU, the last team to beat the Boilermakers.

I really like Matt Painter. I liked how his team played last year, although they didn't earn a tournament bid, and he's done a surprisingly good job on the recruiting trail.

Yep. Totally pissed the Big Ten title away last nite.

Gotta hand it to Purdue. Coming into Madison at nite with so much at stake and getting the W was nails.

Painter is the real deal.

Last year I heard Coach Barnes tell Craig Way that his knees can't take much more squatting and that he would have to start sitting more.
