Banjo music

I understand it's black-socks-with-shorts uncool to like banjo music, but I can't help it. Listened to Prairie Home Companion today and they played a superfast version of Foggy Mountain Breakdown. Was about to let out a loud yee-haw but restrained myself.

I loved it. Just call me Goober. I don't care. All heavy-metal bands should include a banjo player.

You may already be familiar with "Hayseed Dixie" playing bluegrass versions of rock music, but if not you might become a fan.

(Try to forget the theme to Beverly Hillbillies)

You want to here some really good banjo/bluegrass - Lester Flatt & Earl Scruggs are really badass.

Whenever you boys feel like hicks for enjoying banjo music, just think of Charlize Theron playing the banjo in Arrested Development.

You won't feel like a hick anymore. Of course, you're not in her league, but at least you won't be feeling like a hick

Holy ****. What a great video from Letterman. I had never seen that before. Great to see Albert Lee. That guy is my hero.

I love that style that Vince Gill is playing. Sounds like that is on a pedal steel.

Is the flat picker Randy Scruggs? Who is the harp player?

Actually, I don't know much about it, but I have loved banjo music since I got my mom to buy me Dualing Banjos when I was 9. I even got a banjo and took short lived lessons.

My favorite Steve Earle songs all have banjos in them.

Great video of the Byrds and Earl Scruggs.

Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova (from the movie "Once") do a really nice cover of that song on the "I'm Not There" soundtrack.
