Bangkok/Hong Kong/Tokyo

Speaking of going to India....I have been here for work for about 6 weeks and have another week and a half left. On my way back I'm stopping off in Bangkok for 2 nights, Hong Kong for 3 nights and Tokyo for 4 nights. I've got my flights and hotels; anybody got any recommendations for stuff to do?

I'm going to hit all the temples on one day in Bangkok, but not sure about what to do the second day. Might try to catch a Muay Thai match or something. (Staying in Sukhumvit)

Planning to check out Victoria's Peak in Hong Kong and maybe head over to Macau on Sunday to try to find a place to watch the Pacquiao fight and shoot some craps. And find me some good Dim Sum. (staying by Kennedy Town on the Island)

Tokyo I am planning on just winging it right now. Maybe take the bullet train out to Mt Fuji and hit the Fish market early. (Staying by Shinjuku Station)

I cannot fathom being in Hong Kong with just 3 days. I was there for 10 and my To See list not only was not completed, it grew daily.

I did not even make it to the Peak so I envy you that. I am going back though.

I suggest the largest outdoor Bronze Buddha on Lantau Island. You can get there quicker on the tram which is gorgeous! That is going to take at least half a day, however. It was a highlight for me.

Walk around Kowloon. Take the MTR to Tsim Tsa Tsui and exit on the Cameron Rd. exit. It is at the corner of Nathan and Cameron. Just north is Kowloon Park. South of there about two block, near the large Rolex sign on Nathan (you cannot miss it, trust me) there is a good and pretty affordable Dim Sum place.

That whole area is chock full of shops and places to browse. Sadly, if you wanted a suit made you are flat out of luck. None to be had. (blatant sarcasm as you will be approached about five times per block)

Get an Octopus Card for the MTR. There is a good website online for it. It's cheap and you can cash it in when you get to the airport and get back what you did not use and your deposit on the card.

Map out where you want to go using the printable MTR map and streamline everything according to that. Remember when you alight the train, mind the gap. God I love that city.
