WOW, this movie looks like it could be the one to turn Nic Cage's career around 360°.

I am not going to defend Nick Cage on the basis of being some great thespian by any means. However I will say that while each of his characters is exactly the same it is kinda hard not to enjoy Raising Arizona, The Rock, Gone in 60 Seconds, National Treasure. Sure those movies are pretty transparent, but they are a nice 120 minute escape. I can enjoy them for what they are. Pretty high level of entertainment with no real thought required. I can dig that.

However, this one looks like a total, complete POS.

Havent seen it but this morning's hou.chron review headline read: "Another miss from Nicolas Cage." It was actually a review by someone in Orlando who added, "but this is as stale as Tuesday's Pad Thai. Cage, in a jet-black dye job that looks like a wig, adds nothing new to this genre." Ouch.

During the early part of his career he had several great, quirky roles that showed great promise. For the most part, though, he's had a regrettable career since.

i just moved to bangkok. i'm sort of like a hitman. so if you're curious what life is like here.. go see it.

Say what you want about Cage, but the dude looks like he's having a fun time and enjoying his life. I bet he signed into this movie without reading the script, because he wanted to bum out in Thailand for a while.
