Just want to advise ...

Sticking our band in the NE corner has rendered it almost mute.

The Raider band was VERY MUCH louder than the ShowBand of the Southwest ... at least to Section 104.

Carry on.

PS ... did appreciate the combined 1812 Overture at Halftime. See, we CAN get along!!! DILLY DILLY!

.... The post game playing of "The Eyes of Texas" ... could vaguely hear something ... so ... the singing of it was worse than claps getting off count during their march into the stadium.

Resounding defeat all around.

Fireworks are cool, but I'd rather have a dollar off each ticket.

Seems what I first thought of "commercialization" with the Taco Bell Gong back in the day.

... can I say I miss the Gong as the only interruption????

Agree, absolutely. The Raider Band was much louder to those of us in Section 103, too. (As was the OK State Band on Oct. 21). Maybe the folks in the lower tier can hear the LHB okay, but the upper tier is fresh outta luck. If they aren't going to move the LHB to a better location, how about setting up some microphones and blasting it out on the Jumbotron?

At least it's better than when we were at the UT-Rice game in 2003. The acoustics in NRG Stadium (with the roof closed) were so awful that most of the time I could hear the LHB (sort of) but couldn't tell what melody they were playing.

I applaud the Raider band for being able to drowned out the jumbotron ***** commercials one time. As long as the administration is willing to prostitute The University on that thing, it hardly matters where the LHB sits because they won't be heard. I sincerely hope that the LHB decides next season to declare war on the jumbotron, and plays something, anything loud every time a ***** commercial, the bimbo or midget, or some stupid giveaway is on the screen.

Of course, I doubt seriously a band director that doesn't the balls to return a phone call or email will take on that responsibility.

:hookem2:

They should just move them to the middle of the student section on the East Side. Lord knows there was plenty of empty seats to fit 2 LHB's in those seats at every game this year.

Sitting in 103 I could barely detect The Eyes at the end but could hear the Tech Band. I had forgotten how good they were.

In fact, both bands were better than the teams this year.

I liked when Mack would walk down to the corner and get his horns up.

I think the additional construction must have affected the acoustics. There's got to be a way to test these things. Though online surveys like this might be effective.

Next season we should do post game surveys like the posts above.

Section 103
Sound volume: 3
Sound quality 6
