I don't see how Terry lasts beyond this season. It's clear; there's no upside. The only thing that would possibly work is dropping millions on the top players. But even with that kind of talent, they must be coached up.

This is correct! Beard would have won here and honestly the "The guilty until proven" stance by Hartzell was WRONG!

This a "systematic problem" in the Texas Basketball Culture akin to Football NEVER recruiting North Texas (until recently) leaving it to OU, TCU, LSU ...and that MATTERED!

Texas Basketball AD's have chosen coaches that ALL have fallen for the "great athlete of Texas" over "Basketball Players", don't understand the "modern game" of stretching the floor & rotating! I worked in the front office of the SA Spurs for a while so allow me a little latitude....and while we'll get a Johnson from time to time, where have the stretch 2-3 position players been in the last 2 decades? I'm serious! Shooting % is a crime with this program and how long do we have to put up with 4-5 min droughts EVERY GAME?

Time to move on and CDC has a chance to cement his status as the greatest AD we've ever had!

We'd probably have a better record with Beard. But that situation would follow us around forever. Ole Miss got a "clean-ish slate" with him. We'd never live down the fact that we allowed a guy who bit a woman to keep strolling the sideline.

Beard was not unceremoniously canned. After the arrest, Texas had no choice but to relieve him of his duties.

He was in complete control of his fate from the time he was hired. He knew there were issues with the girlfriend, but chose to take her to Austin when he moved.
