Game is in Fayettville at 12:30 on Saturday.

Bama has looked pretty good so far. Whipped Clemson, struggled with Tulane, and whipped W.Ky. We already know about the Pigs. It sure would be nice for us if they could win this one for our sos purposes and to make our game look better for tv, media, etc. How do y'all see this shaping up? Does Arky stand a chance?

- Bama is favored by nine.

The Hogs always have a chance in Fayettville. That place fills up early and gets loud. You can hear that Soooooo PIg chant two miles down the road. Bama will have to bring their A game.

Either way, Saban and Petrino will be able to discuss their exit strategies of the past and possible ones for the future.

Well, Petrino owes Saban for getting him a plum first HC job at Louisville. Remember that Saban brought Bobby Williams to MSU, who was so well thought of that they kept him on after Saban left. Williams flopped, and was replaced by John L. Smith, who left Louisville, vacating that job for Petrino.

L'ville's not a destination job, but for a first HC job it's pretty good, at least when Petrino got there. He inherited decent talent for a mid-major and they were on their way into a wide open BCS league (the Big East post-Miami, VT, & BC). It's a pretty good stepping stone (Q.E.D).

I agree that you can do worse than a BCS school... if I were ranking the BCS schools, it would be well down the list.

The way I look at it is that each coach there is somewhat on his own to make the team successful. It's not like you can make recruits swoon by saying Johnny Unitas played there. They don't have winged helmets, dot the i, or the Eyes of Texas (or War Eagle, as far as that goes).

Even A&M probably has more actual tradition, although not necessarily football tradition.
