Baltimore

Anyone have any recs. on things to do and places to eat in Baltimore. I will be there for 4 nights starting October 17. There isn't a Ravens game that weekend but maybe a college game? I have never been on the east coast so any thoughts /ideas are welcome.

inner harbor area is very cool. tons of little shops/malls and little restaurants right on the water. i was tehre teh day of an o's/yanks game last yr and it was hot as hell but pretty cool set up. from waht ive heard, that area used to be a complete **** hole wasteland.

Little Italy is just a few blocks from downtown/inner harbor and has some great restaurants. Definitely want to get some crabcakes.

For college football, you're about 45-60 min drive from U. of Maryland and the Naval Academy. Probably you can find better things to do.

I spent a year there a while ago. To confirm the other posters, Inner Harbor has some nice places. There were some pretty fun bars just across the street from Camden Yards (acroos from the 3rd base/left field corner if I remember correctly). I do remember Water Street being pretty popular. It is a small street and was like an outdoor party on Thursday and Friday nights. Not sure if it is now, Fells Point was good.

My brother runs a bar there. It's called Bedrock. He just opened up a restaurant next door.
He's got Magic Hat #9 on tap. It's really good.

I will be staying on the inner harbor. Any thoughts about making trip to D.C. for a day/night? Appreciate all the replies. I will def. have to check out this hamsterdam place, it sounds really cool...

johnnyblaze, it looks like that bar isn't too far from inner harbor so I might have to try it out. What is the restaraunt like?

Yeah, it's not far from the harbor at all. It's walkable, even if you're so drunk that you don't remember doing it (which I was).

I'm not sure about the restaurant half of it. It was scheduled to open a few weeks ago. I haven't been in Baltimore since January.
