Bald Ref Everywhere

I'm watching the KSU-NU game tonight. Bald ref is same guy at PU-IU game last night. And at A&M-UT game the night before. Three games in three states in three nights? How about getting some fresh meat in there to make these calls?

You must be talking about Steve Wellmer. It was pointed out on the 'officiating' thread for the Texas/A&M game that he probably works as many games as anyone in the country.

I think Wellmer does a good job. It seemed to me that the worst officiating in the aggy game was being done by the other two officials.

Actually, Welmer worked Baylor-Oklahoma last night. But he did work... He does about five games a week.

Wellmer does a good job and more importantly, he is very consistent. And finally, he doesn't try to put on a show or make the game about him..... like Eddy H.

I think there is more than one Steve Wellmer out there. The guy is amazing. He'll be in Stillwater on Monday, Bloomington on Tuesday, Lexington on Wednesday, and Waco on Thursday. I don't know how the hell he does it. It makes me laugh every time I see the guy.

Welmer makes over $200,000 a year officating college basketball. What a great life!!!!

Think he will do over 120 games this season. Plus camps in the offseason. That $200K # is a bit high....but still a good living to work 2 hours a night....but a whole hell of a lot more goes into that......he literally will be in Austin for a game on saturday, then take the last flight up to somewhere in the Midwest and work a big 10 game on sunday...then up to the NE and work a Big East Game.....the early tuesday am fly back to the SW and work a big ten game...prob take a day off...and repeat the cycle...they do this from Nov to end of March....and have a lot of time off.....but that 5 month period is brutal....
