Bagpipes Pub Eatery

Anybody else get a flyer for this in the mail? Originally, I didn't know whether to post this on Around Austin or 3:16. After looking at their website it appears to be on the up and up. You know, you're standard Irish Pub with shepherd's pie, bangers & mash, etc.

Anyway, they have an, um, interesting marketing approach. See for yourself.

Did they spin out of the Tilted Kilt?

Every time we drive by there my wife tells me how she ended up there by accident and she had no way to tell from the outside that they're Hooters-like.

Look where they are located...they will be gone before most people finish reading this thread.

They are in the Tin Tin/Iron Chef place location of doom.

maybe they think they can get some Sherlock's/Pluckers spillover. Having said that, they ARE in the location of death so I don't have my hopes up for them.

Looks delicious.

I went there for lunch the day after it opened. Food was average, service was very good especially considering 1 waitress was working the bar and the tables around it where we were sitting.

After the lunch rush ended some of the girls hung out with us until the idiot manager bitched at them for it.

It was ok but I don't think I'll be going unless someone else suggests it. I do go to Bone Daddy's more often and find the ham platter to be pretty good but then again I like Maudie's so the food nazis here surely think I'm a moron with the palate of an aardvark.

$2 jack daniel's at Plucker's after lunch that day was nice.

My buddy went on Sunday, and even though the place was empty, they wouldn't change the TV closest to his table to the game (Titans-Texans) he wanted. They had that game in the bar only, where he didn't want to sit.

I was there on a sunday as well...they were very nice and explained that they show all the games, so they ask that you sit near that game that is playing...the girls were lovely and the food was great....will definitely recommend...plus they are showing the UFC fight next Saturday

Was there friday afternoon, managed to be around right when they did a shift change. They have a couple hot waitresses and the rest are blah.

The bartender when we were there was slow, and not too bright. Did not try the food.

On a related note, I tried Tilted Kilt for the first time at lunch today and was pleasantly surprised. The fish & chips were extremely decent and the service was good.

Am not a fan at all...Supposedly the old GM of Tilted Kilt got fired and opend this place up. The girls are a bunch of Penn Staters----great uniforms, bad helmets. The girls at Bikinis and Bone Daddy's put this place to shame.

I went and checked it out this weekend. The bar itself was really nice, but almost TOO nice to want to go watch a football or basketball game. The girls were nothing to write home about at all. The bartender was cute and there was one hot waitress but all the others--I guarantee you have seen much hotter on campus. Putting kilts and knee socks on a chick does not automatically make her hot, people!!

BTW, it was DEAD when we were in there, too. I think that location might actually be one of the worst kiss-of-death places in the city. Shame, too, b/c they obviously put a ton of money into it.
