Back In Black

Our Nike overlords say we must. So it will be a black day in
Lawrence one way or the other.

They look pretty awful, but I'm always the first one to remind everyone that this is the kind of stuff that gets recruits pumped about a program. The 17-year-olds who prefer staying with traditional unis and never deviating are in the minority.

I don't mind it - the longhorn logo's too big, but if it were a little more subtle I think it'd look OK.

I get the tradition angle, but hoops is just different - largely because we HAVE no basketball tradition. If we had a uniform that people looked at and associated with NCAA titles and deep tournament runs over decades, then that would be one thing. And it's not just Texas - there are very few uniforms out there that are so associated with a college basketball program that you couldn't think of them any other way.

I generally like them, but feel that they'd look better with just black and burnt orange. I don't really care for the white trim around the numerals.

Fail. Maybe Deloss will get that clause stricken in the next round of negotiations that should include UA and adidas.

If we pull off the upset against Kansas I say we keep them as the regular unis. Possibly take it one step further and make orange and black the school colors, with a home uni of burnt orange with black numerals.

We could do it across all sports, including football. Maybe even make arrangements to play the OU game on Halloween every year.

It was the black unis jinx. If black isn't your school color, then stay away.
Please burn those butt ugly atrocities tonight!

If you didn't see the game count yourself lucky. Too many
bad stats to list

We shot 9% from the three point line with Holland throwing up
consecutive air balls in the same possession. He should shoot
more because he is shooting like 12% behind the arc.

I remember when people were worried Ridley would be a one
and done at Texas. I think that fear has gone away. We have no inside game and can't shoot from the outside.

Kansas didn't play all that well, if they had they would have
won by like 50 if they didn't call off the dogs. I could go on,
but it's way too painful.

In summary we have been outscored by like 60 points while
wearing black jerseys now. Let's spread the wealth and put
them on all our teams.

But wait, I thought that the "kids" like jazzy unis like this --- they're supposed to pump them up, make them play over their heads?

Burnt orange and white, UT's official colors.

As soon as the "kids" start winning national championships --- hell, start COMPETING for a good seed in the conference tournament, then they can get some gansta unis.

I turned the game off about 1:30 left in the 1st half.

Really sad team play.

I was one of those that thought Ridley could be a one and done. I did not take into account the "Barnes effect" and his ability to take a pretty good player and turn them into a mediocre player. Cam has looked horrid this year, but Barnes has not done him any favors and he certainly hasn't coached him up to improve or anything. Maybe it is all part of Barnes response to the "grooming players for the NBA" critics. He is doing just the opposite with Ridley.

Considering the way Barnes is operating this season, Ridley may be a one and done player in that he transfers to another school. McClellan and Lewis could be two and done.

I hope the baseball team isn't wearing black --- wait, maybe hope they are ---- maybe explain a bit.

What the HELL is going on with Texas men's sports?

At least we could look forward to Feb/March and watch the baseball team win SOMEthing.

Football, basketball, baseball.

Black socks, that's it.

I wish that was all it was.
