Great start to the 2011 season with an 8-0 complete game win by Taylor Jungmann, on a beautiful 78 degree day made for baseball. Three freshmen starters all made big contributions to the victory. Erich Weiss was 3-3 with a run scoring triple, new catcher Jacob Felts looked flawless and had three RBI, and Mark Payton started in the outfield, can't remember his stats, though.
Maryland looked good in the field, and did get some early hits, and their starter was strong into the fifth before tiring. It was a tight 1-0 game at the time, then the subsequent Turtle pitchers weren't up to the task, and it went south in a hurry.
Horns off to a good start, although a bit shaky for the first few innings.
Looking forward to the weekend's three remaining games.
OOPS-didn't realize the game reports were on the Maryland scouting thread.
