Bachelor Party in Montreal...

I'm planning a buddy's b-party and need some info on Montreal. We're down to NYC or here. We've all done NYC and know what it's about but have heard great things about Montreal.

What I do know is that it can be pricey getting there. Hotels are much less expensive than NYC. Drink prices are cheaper.

Bars close at 3am, but there are after hour options.

There are casinos

We're all 30-33 years old and have money to spend.

Should we stay downtown? for reference, when we go to Vegas we stay at Hard Rock or THEHotel (or Palms).

Is there a central bar/club district? I think there is

I've heard the strip club options are rather plentiful and solid. We may or may not partake.

any input is appreciated. Essentially looking for a Vegas style weekend. Bottle service if needed, nice hotel, dinner.

There are wonderful things about Montreal.

My suggestion is to stay downtown. There is a W there that is nice.

There is a strip of clubs and bars and restaurants near the W -- the conceirge will know, I just can't remember the name of it.

Strip clubs are great, and pretty much anything you'd want is available.

The after hours talent that you can bring to your room is not only of utmost quality, but is amazingly affordable. A friend of mine who frequents Montreal tells me this. He goes for exactly this one thing.

I haven't been to the casinos, but I think you'd be disappointed since you are familiar with Vegas.

Montreal would be a great choice. I haven't been there in a few years, so I'm not going to remember the names of everywhere I went. I always stayed w/ a friend there so I won't be much help on hotels.

For going out, Crescent St. is where all of the clubs are. A lot of them are listed here. I have been at Electric Ave, it's an 80's place and was pretty good back in the day.

That link has a listing of other bars/clubs too. It won't be very difficult for you to find places to go since most places are in one area, plus if you guys stay in a decent hotel, the concierge will be able to help you out as mentioned above.

For late night grub, make sure you order a poutine. With smoked meat. It's the Montreal speciality...

I remember a great sushi restaurant also, called Shodan Sushi. Was centrally located, and the hotel can help you book it if you are interested.

Sorry this is all I had to offer, but I guess its better than what's been posted so far...

Probably too late to get in on this discussion...but...

City is very easy to get around in. Transporation isn't really a problem--not as easy as NYC, but still a subway system and cabs everywhere. Downtown has the club scene...Old Montreal with some GREAT hotel bars (W and Hotel St. Paul)...and Rue St. Catherine has the music (NB-right up your alley) scene.

Food is fantastic. Wine is great.

I've always stayed at Hotel St. Paul, but the W looks great, too.
