Babe's Chicken House

Is there a better establishment anywhere for this type of food? Unbelievable chicken (I haven't tried the chicken fried steak, but the wife says it is incredible), all the fresh vegetables you can eat (the corn is amazing) and ice cold beverages. All for about 12 bucks a pop. Anyone visiting the Metroplex needs to check this place out. There are several in the area.

I love Babe's.

I think the only thing I haven't tried is the hickory chicken.

The fried chicken and chicken fried steak are both allsome.

The corn is amazing like you said, and the mashed potatoes are even better. I can't say I've ever bothered to eat the green beans because I have to save room for chicken and potatoes.

Plus the biscuits and honey are great.

The only problem with the place is that it is usually packed, at least the one in Carrollton is, which is the closest one to me.

Babe's Chicken Dinner in Roanoke -- out by TMS -- is BYOB too. I prefer the rolls of Bubba's (same owners) by SMU to Babe's biscuits but it's all good really.

I liked the chicken fried steak and fried chicken, but the creamed corn was the best dish by far, along with the biscuits. The music was a bit too loud, but I enjoyed the place. Not the best cfs in Dallas but a great place to visit especially for out of town people.

I had the CFS at the Garland babes i thought it was average sadly.

The hickory chicken is great as well.
I've been to both but I prefer the roanoke location based purely on atmosphere.

Man, I wish they would share their recipe for the corn. I asked. They won't.

I thank Babe's for 20 lbs. over the past few years.

The CFS is quantity...not quality. Any piece of fried meat that hovers over the plate corners dripping with grease can be forgiven.
