Driftwood, she was a consultant for them last WNBA season before being named an assistant coach prior to this season.

I think Brittainey has a good chance of making the team, but whatever happens, I'm glad to see her get another shot to play in the league. The Sparks originally signed 6 players, inc BR, to training camp contracts about 3 weeks ago, and have since cut 4 of that group. Current roster is 14 so just a few more to go to get it down to 12....hope Brittainey makes the final cut. She's had a strong career overseas (led Hungarian League in scoring in 2013; guard of the year in PR in 2011). She didn't score vs. China in the Sparks first pre-season game, but looked good last night vs. the Storm - 5 pts/4 rbs/3 asst/2 stls.

Well looks like the Sparks just cut their roster from 14 to 11...Raven, DeVaughn and Brewer are gone.

I wish they kept a slightly larger roster. They reduced that number a few years ago in a cost cutting move. Looks like Brit was the last guard cut. Hope she gets picked up by someone else.

Yeah they reduced the roster size to 11 in 2009, but increased it by one this year to 12. The Sparks cut the team to 11 so perhaps there's another player in the equation I'm not aware of; I think Brittainey would have made the team if they'd kept 12 on current roster. I also hope she finds a place somewhere else; would love to see what she can do over the course of a full season in the league.

Well based on the roster as it stands now, it was likely between Arminte Herrington formerly Arminte Price or BR being the last guard cut. Since Aminte played for Carol Ross in college, it would be hard for that not to give her a competitive advantage
