I hope the comparisons to Peterson end before he gets to Austin. I'm ecstatic he's coming to Texas because he seems like just the kind of kid we'd want. His head is on straight and certainly talented enough to be worthy of an offer. Get enough of these type kids and we're in the hunt every year.
I love it. It looks like they are practicing in a barnyard. The kid is really likable. I hope he can handle the unrealistic expectations. AD is a once in a lifetime player. No shame in being substantially less of a back than him.
He seems like a quality person as well as a great running back. He obviously comes from a good family. We look forward to watching you play here Traylon .
i've seen a lot of great running backs over the years. peterson is really remarkable but nothing like one of a kind. dickerson much the same.
the best combination, though, of speed, strength, vision and judgement, balance, low center of gravity and forward lean, desire, and ability to absorb and hand out punishment, and yet remain the consummate team player was earl campbell. earl had those incredible big thighs and a really long stride. next best i ever saw was ricky (jim brown retired before i got old enough to pay attention). billy sims was up there. and before he got hurt, roosevelt leaks was cut from the same cloth.
this is the first time i've seen shead, and i really like how he plays. i am very anxious to see him with a longhorn on his hat.
The first time I heard of Traylon was at a clinic in 2008. I got to see some film. He reminds me of another small school RB, David Overstreet of Big Sandy.
yeah, vculou, i was impressed with the demeanor of both father and son. i thought the dad's advice was right on.
i don't remember much about overstreet. i do remember his being a very good running back. i will be pleased if traylon reminds us of overstreet's running style.
