Avery and Tristan

Two teams of all D-1 players and so far in the early going Bradley stands out. How exciting is this?!

Hook'em!!!

Absolutely. He's an upgrade at the 2 from what we had this year. Not the shooter that AJ was, but he's a better all around player.

In the first half, Bradley has 20 of Findlay's 27, an assist, and he's everywhere on defense. Tristan hasn't done much, had a few rebounds and a few of his shots blocked.

BTW, this isn't some scrub team they're playing. Montrose has a 5* PF going to Nova and another 4* PF going to Nova. They also have a 4* junior SG. They're almost as talented as Findlay.

Does anyone know if Kabongo will follow Tristan to Findlay next year? They will need a replacement for Bradley and they are buds.

Thompson comes from St Benedict's where Kabongo is the PG. Montrose Christian is where Kevin Durant went to high school. Bradley will start and be a dominant player. Hope he stays for at least 2 years. The Horns will be Final 4 good next year.

Bradley also had 7 rebounds, at least 2 assists, probably 4 blocks, and 3-4 steals. Tristan ended with a little under 10 points and 9 or 10 rebounds. He's got Damion's athleticism with en axtra inch or two of height and longer arms. He's also got more handle now than Damion had as a freshman, though judging from his free throw shooting (flat shot) he's got some work to do on his shot. Had a couple blocks though and played very good defense against a 5* power forward.

A potential player to keep an eye on for the future could be Montrose guard Justin Anderson. He's a 6'5 185 freshman guard. Really muscular for a freshman. To get the kind of PT he's getting for Montrose is pretty special when you're that young. Not sure on his shooting, but he's a great athlete.

""Texas is one that I am interested in for certain. North Carolina is another. Maryland is certainly in there. Louisville, Duke and Georgetown too. There are a lot of them right now, and it's just a great time of year to see as many as I can," he said."
The Link

I would imagine his recruitment will be influenced by J'mychal Reese's growth, both physically and in his PG skills.

It'll be tough to get Anderson a year after picking up Kabongo.

Same thing with Pressey.

I guess it could happen, but elite level point guards don't tend to want to be on the same roster as other elite level point guards.

I don't think he was a PG? More of a 2/wing type. He's 6'5 already. I guess personally I expected the 2011 class to be more of a big mean oriented class outside of Kabongo. 2011 will be Johnson's senior year, Chapman's senior year, and Hill's senior year. Wangmene will be a junior, and Thompson will be a freshman, but a potential 1 and done. We really need bigs in that class. 2012 will be Lucas, Ward, and Balbay's senior season, leaving us POTENTIALLY with Bradley (doubtful?), Bejarano, Kabongo, and maybe Shawn Williams at guard.

I guess alot depends on the finish of next year's class. I haven't seen much discussion on the remaining options here, so who are we lookin at still? I think we'll have at least one extra ship to give next year (we have 4 juniors right now, if James goes pro his ship will be used to get us to 13 next season). Maybe give 2 more if we expect some additional attrition? I'd like to see us take another big, more of a power guy, but I don't really see "that guy" right now. Your thoughts?

Not sure who you are referring to, SL...Justin Anderson is definitely NOT a PG or PG prospect. He's a wing through and through, maybe even a SF if he keeps growing. He and Kabongo in the same backcourt would work easily.

In the title game vs. Oak Hill, Findlay won by 7 or so, with Avery going for 20 points, 8 rebounds, a couple assists, and numerous defelections, despite sitting out 4 minutes with 4 fouls and then fouling out with 2:30 to go. Once he was gone, it was time for Tristan to take over, as he had 8 pts (4-4 FT), 3 rebounds, and a block in the last minute and a half. He finished with 12 points, probably 10-12 rebounds, and 2-3 blocks.

On a side note, Tiny Gallon likes to throw up threes. He has a pretty nice shot and made a couple of them, but I don't know if Capel is gonna want him throwing up 23 footers 4-5 times a game next year.

When he flashed the Hook'em it was the cherry on top.
Findlay' Prep's run the last 3 days was like a Longhorn recruiting commercial.
If you got skills comeon down. ESPN announcers gave UT a ton of love.

Bradley looked VERY good. Reminded me on someone that Calipari would recruit and play for a year and put in the lottery the next year. I watched a little and the other guy didn't stand out. Saw the UT gear on the front row. The BOMC on RISE.

I'd wager that Gallon under Capel will not be spending a lot of time outside the arc like he was today. I kept mentally yelling at him to get in the paint. He's got nice game but at 6-9 and with his width get on the blocks. I'd think that he needs to look at how wide 6-9 big men play at the NBA level and try to get there - wide being the variable that makes him outside of the potential of a Durant. He has a Karl Malone build.

I was told on Anderson that his destination at this point is likely North Carolina.

He loves Kevin Durant, though.

Keith Gallon has all the talent in the world. His problems are between the ears --- but so were Willie Warren's, and that's worked out better than I expected.
