Another reason why many in our society shouldnt be allowed to breed...

On the fan forum site "Avatar Forums," a topic thread entitled "Ways to cope with the depression of the dream of Pandora being intangible," has received more than 1,000 posts from people experiencing depression and fans trying to help them cope. The topic became so popular last month that forum administrator Philippe Baghdassarian had to create a second thread so people could continue to post their confused feelings about the movie.

"I wasn't depressed myself. In fact the movie made me happy ," Baghdassarian said. "But I can understand why it made people depressed. The movie was so beautiful and it showed something we don't have here on Earth. I think people saw we could be living in a completely different world and that caused them to be depressed."

A post by a user called Elequin expresses an almost obsessive relationship with the film.

"That's all I have been doing as of late, searching the Internet for more info about 'Avatar.' I guess that helps. It's so hard I can't force myself to think that it's just a movie, and to get over it, that living like the Na'vi will never happen. I think I need a rebound movie," Elequin posted.

A user named Mike wrote on the fan Web site "Naviblue" that he contemplated suicide after seeing the movie.

"Ever since I went to see Avatar I have been depressed. Watching the wonderful world of Pandora and all the Na'vi made me want to be one of them. I can't stop thinking about all the things that happened in the film and all of the tears and shivers I got from it," Mike posted. "I even contemplate suicide thinking that if I do it I will be rebirthed in a world similar to Pandora and the everything is the same as in 'Avatar.' "

Other fans have expressed feelings of disgust with the human race and disengagement with reality.

I was jealous how all of the people there were healthy and had six packs. If you were to go to a NaVi dance or bar- you basically couldn't go wrong with any nice NaVi woman.

General, this is Cactus Cafe, not WestMall. Just sayin...

in Cactus Cafe- yes I would actually- instead of the political message in the movie that General doesn't like.

Avatar is entertainment, therefore I thought the cactus forum was appropriate. i'm pro avatar, i enjoyed the movie. i dig the navi people, im part native american, i get them...ha ha...i've described the movie as a tree huggers wet dream because i imagine this is the type of world where they might want to live minus having a god to worship.

i think there are a lot of miserable people out there who need a better grip on reality. we are never going to have floating mountains, flying pet birds and a extension cord hanging out of our *** so we commuinicate with the plants and animals.

All that technology and they didn't even have ONE tactical nuke to just go in and level that damn tree.... I wonder if the CEOs and upper management will get their bonuses in 4 years when they show up back home after being punked by a bunch of neanderthals... Do you get payed while you are in hyper sleep?

The problem with a nuke is that a.) they have to work there. Yes, the environment is somewhat hostile but that would defeat a lot of purposes. b) How is unobtanium affected by a nuclear reaction or radiation? c.) Should a private corporation have nuclear weapons?

You might be able to wipe out everybody on that board with a thread revealing that smurfs don't actually exist and that the Wizard of Oz is fiction.

I thought the 20 gazillion dollar a kilo rock was at the big tree house they blew to **** with the air strike? (btw, imagine how much firewood that would be, if they could haul it off the planet). They did the assault at the life tree where they Navi were gathering..so they could nuke the piss out of that and no problems.

I'm sure a nuke would go off in that environment...there were explosions so there was enough oxygen. And I'm sure they could grease the palm of the local inspector for having a nuke accidentally go off.

Bad *** movie though. I'm sure the sequel will be pretty good when the company comes back and decides to really **** **** up.

I was only depressed over wanting to visit a fictional place once, and that was when I was a little kid wanting to go to Jurassic Park. Even then I didnt dwell on it that long.

I was depressed that Alamo didn't have it in 3D. Had to see it stone cold sober at a Cinemark. Very depressed.
