Okay, my wife is a wedding coordinator here in Austin. One of her brides booked a facility, but is running up against size limits (number of guests). So, she is considering getting out of the deal and using another facility.
The facility is The Barr Mansion, and the date of availability is June 26, 2004. She is offering to TRANSFER her contract to another bride. She doesn't need to recover her whole deposit -- just a fair portion thereof. The advantage for the new bride is that she will be able to secure a top-notch facility, on a hard-to-get weekend, for BELOW actual price. New bride would pay a discounted price (make an offer), but would get the benefit of the current bride's FULL DEPOSIT, which is the majority of the facility expense.
It's a great facility, and can be used for both the wedding and reception (it would be in this case, but you can use it for whichever you wish). You can check out the facility at The Link
I know that SOMEBODY on this board is looking to do a June wedding, and this could be a great opportunity to get an excellent facility at a great price.
My wife's client wants to see if she can get enough interest to make a transfer worthwhile. If she can't, she'll probably just gut it up and make it work at the Barr Mansion, but she'd rather transfer the contract to someone else, so everybody wins.
