Autolock: Waste of money?

I saw this device called the "unBRAKEable Autolock Pro" advertised recently. This is an automobile anti-theft device that, once in place and locked, prevents the brake pedal from being depressed. I guess it is a variation of "the Club", which reportedly can be easily defeated by either freezing the lock with freon (?) and then shattering the locking mechanism or by cutting the steering wheel and slipping the Club off. Any thoughts as to whether the Autolock would be be any better? Or is it likewise a waste of money, something that a car thief with a modicum of experience could easily defeat?

What's the thory behind this? I guess that many automatics have to have the brake depressed to shift out of park, but not standards. If you drive a stick, that just seems like it would make it more likely for a thief to crash and total your car. Oh well.

I'd rather have my car stolen than go through life so paranoid that I have to install a Club or anything else every time I get out of the car.

I'm about to turn 36, so I've been driving for 20 years, that's 7,300 days. You can have my car if it saves me from installing a Club 29,200 times (on/off x 2 per day x 7,300).

Yes, it most likely helps. I don't know if it is better than the club, but any of those devices most likely will make the thief go to the next vehicle which will be easier to steal.
Any device can be defeated by a determined enough thief, though. If you have a new Ferrari, and Mr. Pro Thief wants it, he will probably get it.

just buy a lojack if you're worried your car is gonna get stolen, thats what i got. they promise to get it back within 24 hours.
