Had a little run-in with a stationary object over the weekend...

Dented the hell out of the rear hatch door of my 4Runner.

I'm meeting the adjuster tomorrow to get an estimate. Would appreciate recommendations for auto body shops in the Austin area--trustworthy, service-oriented and quick turnaround on the job. Thanks!

I probably would have gotten estimates first before calling the adjuster. But Ellis and Salazar is pretty good and seem to be honest. I wasn't thrilled with the quality or the service at B&B. Actually the service wasn't bad except they needed me to show the what was obviously wrong with their repair. Which I felt they should have been able to see theselves.

Thanks... We have Geico; they have specific shops at which the estimate will be assessed but I can take it to any shop to get the work done.

I have recommended Rebreu Body and Frame to several of my customers, and he has done a good job so far. I was a high school friend of one of the two owners, but I wouldn't recommend them if people did not report back favorably on the place. It is at 822 Kramer Lane.

Custom Car Crafters is probably one of the best in the Austin area, period.
They host quite a few of those car shows (the ones at the auditorium) and pretty much win every entry.
They even bought out a shop on the motor mile.

I was in Austin over the July 4th weekend, got back into at the La Quinta parking lot, got super pissed (new G35), found a place to fix it with PDR-Paintless dent repair. Don't know if your job would work with that.....sounds worse.

Anyway, I went to River City Collisioin....real nice people. Dude was busy and couldn't do what I needed so he referred me to the PDR place, which happend to be in the building right behind him. He didn't get a dime from his referral. Guy that did the PDR was super nice. Cheap...no insurance involved and done in like an hour so I could get back to Houston.

So, that was a nice 1001 post. I gotta pay attention to my count when I am close to the milestone, damn it!!

i'm bumping this to see if there are any other suggestions out there. i've been makin the rounds, getting estimates, so i'm almost ready to make a decision.
