Australia/New Zealand

I'm researching Australia and New Zealand for a 10 day honeymoon in June. Can someone recommend an all-inclusive adult only beach resort? Any thoughts on the two countries and how to survive the long flight is appreciated.

DC..

The big question is what kind of vacation are you looking for? Australia and/or New Zealand is a long way to fly to just hang out on an all-inclusive resort for 10 days. You could do that somewhere else much closer and less expensive. If you want to do something like that, i would opt for something island-y and tropical.

Australia and New Zealand are more adventure type destinations, get out and see the country and explore.

I personally loved New Zealand and can't wait to visit again.
It is a small country with a lot of variety. Something interesting to see and do at every turn.

Australia is MUCH bigger. Long distances between cities. I have never been, but when i was deciding between New Zealand and Australia it seemed pretty apparent, i could do and see a lot more in NZ in a shorter amount of time.

Glaciers, Volcanos, Whale Watching, Jet River Boating, Whitewater Rafting, Trekking, Geysers, Beaches, Sea Kayaking, Mountains, Snowboarding....

btw. you survive the long flight by either a) upgrading to business class or b)research the different airlines that fly there and the amenities their equipment has(ie: in-seat entertainment such as dvr, etc.)

We went to Australia in March and flew on Quantas. They have it down - 1st 3 hours of flight - you eat, watch movies or tv (lots of options), read, etc. Then lights are dimmed for 9 hours, although you can still watch movies etc. Three hours before landing the lights come up, you eat the appropriate meal for arrival (it was breakfast both ways) and get ready to depart.

Our travel agent steered us to the last several rows on Quantas. There were only two seats on the sides instead of three, and the extra space was by the windows. It was a great place to store stuff during the flight (and we didn't have to have it under a seat for takeoff.) Unless you are in another class, it's the only way to have just the two of you on a row!

Quantas made it as pleasant as a 15 hour flight can be.
