We need Woody to work out the kinks.

Yeah the Bullpen has had a couple miserable outings as of late and he has played a big part of those.

I must say the timing couldn't be worse but we still have a few games to settle down. I am sure the coaching staff is working on it.

I wouldn't throw him again until regionals and I'd have someone give him arm massages every day.

Chance is listed as the probable starter today, going up against TJ Walz.

K-State is throwing AJ Morris today against Baylor, so that's good news for us on 2 fronts : we can't have Baylor getting another win, and we don't want to face Morris on Saturday.

BH - Thanks for researching those stats.

Per today's Statesman, Discharry was pulled yesterday with a 2-2 count on the batter in favor of Wood because the batter was a left hander and Wood was "not loose" enough to face him initially.

In many. many years of watching baseball at the collegiate level (my age is not that far from Augie) I have only seen a pitcher be pulled in mid-count this year. I recall seeing it one other time this year, with the count 1-0. IMO, Discharry should have been left in with a 2-2 count. If he gets out of the inning, what a confidence booster for a 19 year old freshman. If he doesn't, he loses no more confidence than he did yesterday being pullled with a 2-2 count.

So, in summary a pitcher was pulled with a 2-2 count to bring in Wood, when there was question was he loose. Due to questions about a mid-reliever we have brought Wood in too early this year. Before yesterday, he had pitched 58 innings.
Huston and Cox pitched 47 and 78 innings respectively, in 02 and 05 (complete season and post season)

It will be interesting to see how Chance is handled today. He has thrown 91 innings so far this year, 14 more innings than the nearest starter (Green, 77) A&Ms Raley and OUs Doyle have thrown 90 and 88 innings respectively about the same. However, their closer/mid relievers have thrown 47 inning max.

So, in summary, is there enough evidence for the Grand Jury to convene on proper management of pitchers. Thanks everyone for hearing my rant. I couldn't sleep last night.

I think woods is hurt....his delivery is much more sidearm than earlier in the year....about the past 3 weeks i have noticed it...
