Austin on Memorial Day weekend

Looking at going down to Austin during MD and was wondering about hotels for me and my GF. Not looking for something real romantic but something a little out of the ordinary.

Also, how do you get to the park area to picnic (Stubbs BBQ) and watch the bats?

Isn't there a park on the east side of the bridge to picnic (stubbsbbq) and watch the bats?
