Austin Moving Truck Rentals

I remember a thread about which companies to use and not use when it comes time to rent a truck, but I can't find it anywhere through the search function.

Can anyone point me to that thread, or does anyone have suggestions?

I seem to remember a number of people saying UHaul sucked.

Why not just let a company that is local move it for you, save your back. Your friends don't really want to help you anyways, lol. So pm Put Simms In. He is your man for this.

I understand that some people would rather move themselves. We do have really good rates si if you decide to use a mover let me know.

On truck rentals, it depends. If it is local, Uhaul should be fine. Uhaul definitely sucks but they are the cheapest. When you talk to them tell them you want a new truck and not some run down piece and tell them you will demand another truck if they stick you in a piece on the day of your move.

If you are moving a long distance, do not use Uhaul. Pay a little extra and know that you won't break down. Penske and Enterprise seem to take the best care of their trucks.

BUT, again, the easiest way is to let me do it for you. The truck, equipment, furniture pads and man power are all included in one price and by the time you rent the truck and get over your back ache it is always worth it.

I second the advice on UHaul. I drove a friend to Albuquerque a few years ago in a UHaul truck, and we broke down in Clovis, NM. It was not a pleasant experience.

Also, I used movers for the first time last year, after many years of moving myself. Unfortunately I live in the metroplex, and wasn't able to use PSI, but it's worth every penny. At least check on prices - you might be surprised.
