Austin Longhorn Club today

We all follow the new recruits each year, salivating over the incoming guys,
but let me tell you, this group is going to amaze. This is a seriously talented,
fast, mean, tough group. And Mack is pumped.
It was a great lunch (except for the actual lunch, which is a disgrace for
the LHC to serve that tough pig and act like we should like it) and Mack
was his usual entertaining self. The Horns played 18 true frosh last year
and you can bet that close to that number will again play -- and shine.
Things are looking up.

p.s. to the Longhorn Club. PLEASE give us a decent meal next time. I took
a guest and it was embarrassing.

I'm always an offensive guy. But this year I am just as excited about seeing our defense as I am the offense and that includes the O even having Johnathan Gray. You could see our defense getting better as the year went on despite playing two offenses that were pretty high powered with Baylor and OSU. I'm excited about Diaz picking up right where he finished the season after dominating Aggie and Cal's offenses.

If you actually go to Austin Longhorn lunches for the food, then you're there for the WRONG reason and you should take your business elsewhere. The food is just a side dish to the coach (or assistant coach) that speaks there.

It WAS tough pork, but it wasn't terrible. Be glad it wasn't Mexican food (they never serve Mexican food when Mack shows up).

Your friend should have just been glad that you took him/her to the meeting.

Mack was brilliant and honest, as usual. The man could run for governor and most people would vote for him no matter what his stand was on the issues.

No matter how many times I hear him speak in person, I continue to be amazed at what a good speaker he is.

BTW, upgrade your Foundation contribution and come over and sit in a good section . . . .

Yes, the pork was tough, I wish I had just ordered a pizza for the luncheon today. In the early days of the Mack Brown era, the meal of choice for his luncheon dates was always prime rib, anyone else remember that? But the recruiting this season was pretty impressive, I must say.

Section 5,
I don't go FOR the food, but thanks for your smarmy remarks.
There is no excuse to serve that kind of (barely) army food.
As for moving to your section, I might have to sit next to you
and that could ruin the day, so no thanks. And as for the
donation amounts they are all over the place on the west side.
Grandfathered seats for under $500 all around you and
thousands of dollars to get some close to us, so lower your
nose.
