Austin Lasik

Girlfriend is looking to do. I did years ago in Dallas and love it. She went to Mann Eye Institute and they want $4K. She's far-sighted, but that sure sounds high to me.

What are some other reputable centers in Austin that folks have used and are happy with?

I had Dr. Dell do mine a few years back... for about that price range. It was the best $$ I've ever spent on myself.

$4k is what I paid 6 years ago in Dallas. Best $ ever spent.

Tom Walters at Texan Eye did mine - he is great. He has done thousands, and I was the third to have to have it done on one eye three times, but that's because he is a perfectionist. My two highlights were being able to see in the shower and see the alarm clock, and I have been more than happy. Unfortunately, I was in my 50's when I had it done so I wear bifocals to read a book or a menu in a dark restaurant, but can read the phone book in good light!

Yeesh, that's my vision now! I cannot really read a menu or anything else in dim light. My left eye has been my weak eye all my life and I had to wear glasses as a kid. I wonder if Lasik is something that would help me. I will find out soon enough when I get my eye exam next week.
