austin high vs. westlake

went to the game on friday. great high school game. westlake won in OT 49-42. as good as the game was, i couldn't get over cayleb jones, the wr for austin. i posted once before about jones when i saw him for the first time. this was my second look at him, and i really see him as the best player in the state his senior year. he is only a sophmore right now. by the way, his stats for the game: 17 rec./282 yds. it was just sick. horns better be all over him.

IIRC, Cayleb's dad is Robert Jones, who played LB for the Dallas Cowboys...

I was also at the game. It was very exciting and Austin High brought their spirit! The bands from both schools were very good and it was a high caliber night all around.

Jones stood out during warm-ups. He's 6'3", 176 lbs. per Rivals and I'd say those dimensions are about right. He is very lean, but it was obvious he was the best player on the field. Very smooth. Very aware of the details of being a receiver. The Westlake players clearly respected him as they sought him out after the game for handshakes.

i think that the only thing that could possibly keep cayleb out of the nfl would be cayleb. don't know him at all, but if he has the work ethic and right attitude, he seems like a can't-miss kid. i have heard great things about his family.
