I dont know where they are planning on playing but they should play at the palace. Its a nice place and probably the size that they are looking for. I dont know if they would use it but the video board is there as well.

I presume he's talking about the "Palace at Parmer" in NW Austin. Nice facility, more than big enough for this I would think.

Its on parmer in NW austin as stated (RRISD stadium). Seats about 11k. There is not a track around it so fans are close to the action. It would suck for people coming from south austin but I cant think of a better location. UT wont let them use their facilities. AISD is picky about letting teams use theirs. The best AISD option would be house park because of the location. The field is way too narrow though. The palace uses field turf so they are less picky about how its used.

I would love if they played at the Palace, it takes me only a few minutes to get there.

The LoneStars used to play at House Park then moved out to the old Del Valle stadium. AISD did let a World Cup scrimmage match happen at Nelson field in 1994.

i'd be more pumped about a MSL franchise.

whooopeee... austin gets another SEMI-pro team. YAWN!

I too want to see a relegation schedule. I doubt the owners would ever go for it though. Too much to lose in a country that doesn't exactly embrace the sport.

Season opener is May 3rd, home opener in May 10th
The Link

They have a Pro-team and a U-23 team it looks like

Round Rock Dragon stadium (by Round Rock High School) will be the home stadium. I think I will go have Sacconne's Pizza for dinner then head over to a soccer game in the next few weeks.

I would love to see a relegation system as well, but that is going to be a long way into the future. The money just isn't there. Someone above mentioned that the owners wouldn't go for it. Remember that the league actually controls all the teams much more than each individual owner does. This is because in most leagues the teams are all strong enough to compete against each other, but with the league still in it's young stages the league functions more as a single unit. The last thing that MLS needs is individual teams to start failing. The league needs EVERY team to suceed. This means that as nice as relegation would be, it is still a future thing if at all for the league.

I am no expert, but do all I can to learn about the business model of the league. I find it to be very different than the other professional leagues in the US and that it is handled in a very smart manner.

Thanks for some of the clarification.
I was getting confused about the two teams.
I will try and go to a game this season since they are close to home and I like the coach Wolfgang.

Cool. New English team - Stoke City - to root for. Checked their website and it states that they chose Texas because it is a hotbed of American soccer.

Stoke City is about to be promoted so that makes it even cooler. I've always rooted for Fulham because of the American presence. Now we'll have a Texas presence.

By the way, one of their starters is named Liam Lawrence. My future EPL star, 17 month-old is named Emmett Tyson Liam Lawrence.
