Austin Fence Company?

One of the builders I do work for has had about 3 different people do projects for him (he does rehab / flips in the Brentwood area of Austin) & he said never again; ONLY Viking.

You want cheap and fast? Go with Centex out of Elgin. I'd use these guys again on a rental property but not on my own residence.

I highly recommend Aus-Tex. They've done two jobs for me -- both 6' cedar privacy fences. They keep their word, don't nickle-and-dime you on price, and do it fast. Day 1, 2 guys come and tear down the fence and set the posts, usually a Thursday. Next day, 2 different guys come and put up the stringers and pickets.

About five years ago I went to Viking, got supplies, and rebuilt my own fence. Nothing to it. I just rented a gasoline powered auger for the fence post holes. Took me four days and that includes the drying time for the concrete in the post holes.


Five years later, it still looks great.

Hornius (this obviously only applies for a new fence or someone adding new holes), I'd like to crack a beer & sit in a lawn chair while folks in the Austin area who are W of MoPac & S of Slaughter attempt to use an auger.

Maybe in the 'blackland' type areas that will work, but if you're even close to being rocky, you will get spun off & break your hands.

yea, i have 500 ft I need to have done in north dallas. when I was looking around during teh boom over a year ago they wanted a heck of a lot. It was easily going to be in the 10k range.

Have prices come down since teh slump has hit hard?

Try Patrick Chavarin @ 512.789.2513 - He used to work for Viking (I believe) & now does his own thing. I forget the name of his company. Great work at a good price.
