austin area watering rules?

just moved back to Austin (well, Round Rock actually). This'll be my first summer as a homeowner. I keep seeing the local weatherman reference addresses ending in such and such can water today, and those with this number can water tomorrow.

Is there a formal rule requiring that we abide by these watering rules?

Its the volunteer water schedule. You don't have to abide by it yet. But if we go without rain for long enough then it becomes mandatory and you can get busted if caught watering when its not your day.
