Grapevine Market is blowing out some remaining winter beer stock at ridiculous prices. They're selling 4-packs of Samuel Smith's "Winter Welcome Ale" for $3.00, which is insanely low for a traditionally expensive British beer.
It's a copper-colored ale with a nice balance of malt and hops. I don't really see it as a "winter" beer, although it shows hints of spice and fruit. I had one back-to-back with a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, and the main difference was the higher hoppiness of the American brew.
They had about 3 cases left this afternoon.
Had.
I left a bit for you guys.
