Is it possible to get a decent 1BR for less than $500 (N/NW Austin)?

I don't know how much longer I can tolerate my roommate. But as it is right now, I only pay $400 in rent each month, and I don't pay any bills.

Ideally I'd like to live alone, but I don't want to double my living expenses either, Plus, being as I haven't paid bills in years, I don't even know what to expect with those.

I know at my apartment complex off of Parmer/Mopac the rent is under 500 for the 2 smaller floor plans (I'm in the bigger of those 2). My rent is 475. I budget about 50 for electric, 10 for water, and 45 for internet. Since my sister moved in we got digital cable in addition to the internet, so that bill went up to 125.
