Channel 2 in Houston reported that Dean is interested in us and will take a visit the weekend before signing day. I know Applewhite was recuiting Dean at Bama, hopefully this isn't any indicator on how things are going with Scott.

Applewhite said at his presser that he called all of his Alabama recruits and told them Bama is the place they should go. If we are still recruiting Dean, I would imagine (hope), that if we are still recruiting him Major is not involve.

If we're going after him, it's because Scott is a done deal.

Dean is a good fit at Texas... can carry the load and handle the pressure.

dean would be a fine consolation prize if we lose out on scott. The fact he is visiting doesn't give any indication of where we stand on Scott. It's just you have an undecided prospect who sees a wide open backfield in his home state and if you do lose scott you have another guy lined up to take the scholly.

With charles leaving, we should get one of these two backs.

I really liked what I saw from Dean against Pflugerville. Nice combination of size and speed. Running back is a higher need for us in 2008 with Jamaal's departure for the NFL, so if Dean wants to commit I think Mack has to jump at the opportunity rather than betting on Scott.

Anybody know if Dean made to Austin for a visit. Kinda interesting that UCLA was making a late push for Scott knowing they had Dean on board.

I haven't read anything about a visit from Dean (although I don't subscribe to premium services), but I am pretty sure that we would have heard by now if he had visited Austin recently.
