Wow, I can't believe he's almost 80! Definitely one of my favorite actors. Whenever Lonesome Dove comes on TV, it's one of the few movies I have to stop on watch. But I like him in everything he does.

I loves me some Lonesome Dove. One of my favorite mini-series of all times.

It's funny -- I love Robert Duvall, but I don't like Lonesome Dove. I watched it until the final episode, but I just couldn't watch the last one. That miniseries bored me out of my mind.

I know, I know ... that's heresy on these boards.

I liked Lonesome Dove ok, but when Duvall was on screen, I absolutely LOVED it.

Without him it would have been just ok.

My wife & I were in Fredricksburg Sunday and while grabbing a sandwich at a coffe shop he and a lady came in for ice cream, sat right next to us. We spoke, but afforded him his privacy.

Great diverse actor, I have always enjoyed his work.

Understand he is filming in the area.

If anyone is old enough to remember the tv show Combat! with Vic Morrow in the 60's he frequently guested as a Nazi doctor, usually taken prisoner to show that Germans could be human. Like all his roles from the Godfather to the Apostle to the Great Santini, he always kicked ***.
