Audio Equipment

thanks to you all I learned of monoprice, now I have all of the equipment with the exception of 2 new front speakers a new center speaker and a HDMI receiver. I don't need any of this as I have my old 4.1 speakers andmy old Yamaha receiever that are all more than capable of being used. However this would compete a fine setup.

So my question is for suggestions for a site to purchase this equipment and get good equipment for a good price, what site would you all suggest?

I'm confused . . . you have some gear but you want to upgrade?

If so, and you want some SERIOUS bang for the (large) buck, check out the new PSB Synchrony line. I have their top L/R speakers, the Synchrony Ones, which blew me away on audition, and which have subsequently been compared favorably in Stereophile to speakers costing more than 4X their price ($20K vs. $4.5K per pair). They have smaller models which cost less, but their center channel is very expensive ($2k), so I haven't bought it.

I know this is going to be very low end for some of you, but I was hoping ~$300 for the speakers and $300 for the receiver.

Crutchfield has Boston and Infinity for $100 pair

How is your sub in the current system. If it is working well, then maybe replace that last. On the receiver front, take a look at the Yamaha RXV663 I feel in the sub 500.00 area that it is one of the best value for dollars that you can get. As for the speakers, it sounds like you will probably be after some small sats, with a matching center. Let me know if you are in Austin and I can try to hook you up with something on the receiver and speakers if you would like.
