Is anyone else a bit concerned about our lack of run support? These last two games are a prime example of how we struggle against top tier pitching. AG was talking today about how we faced two great pitchers. Well what do you think were going to be facing the rest of the way. I know great pitching wins championships but i would feel a bit more secure with more run support. Let's hope the regionals will give us that extra spark.

sounds strange but i'm more concerned with our pitching maintaining pace. In tournaments I think our guys will have an advantage b/c teams have to go 4+ deep a lot for pitching depth. That's to our advantage. But if Cole, Taylor, Brandon aren't as sharp as they have been, the advantage we hold is gone.

It's tough for any lineup (ours included) to hit good pitching. I'm sure quality pitchers look forward to playing us, they consider it a great challenge to duel w/ our staff. We'll see their best efforts about everytime. It's when we can get deep in others staffs is when i think we can do some damage (hopefully)

My biggest concern is Loy. If he's not functionally healthy we're no where near the team we could be.

We need Loy. Everything else is rock solid and I am so glad that Cole is going to get minimum innings in a useless game against aggy and then get HOME and rest.

There is nothing other than Brandon to worry about from today through next Friday when we begin the assault on Omaha.

Think about a reason that a whole group of college males at a hotel out of town would look lethargic and unmotivated the next day . . .

These kids hadn't finished up the regular season until this week. They very well may have thought they deserved to celebrate the regular season championship they had won. Augie's post-game comments after the Tech loss said that they weren't focused on baseball. He essentially said they had become far too self-congratulatory over their regular season win.

And, I promise you, there is a precedent for a Texas baseball team focusing on something other than baseball -- and on the road during the regular season.

The team was on the road for 9 days straight, I believe. I think they will be refreshed to get back to Austin, but they need to be focused in practice this week. We chased too many bad pitches in OKC resulting in strikeouts and weakly hit balls.

they bussed straight to OKC posted by bevocbs

Did they really bus? It is about 470 miles from Columbia to OKC. Tell me you are joking and I took the bait.

The team left Taylor Stadium in Columbia for the team hotel there. Cleaned up then bussed to St Louis and caught a flight later that evening to Ok City. They PROBABLY bussed from the airport in Ok City to their hotel.

So they did bus PART of the way.

NebLHAB - Did you note anything in the team's demeanor in Columbia that may have been a factor in OKC? Tired, not enthusiastic, etc?
