at the IL game....

My mom's family is all from Illinois. Basketball is the big sport there, football is just something to do when there isn't a basketball game.

Wow this is one heck of a game. Texas playing inspired basketball. Thompson is kicking some butt in the last few minutes. Jordan was hot early.

IL crowd very impressed by our team.....then got asked "Hey weren't you guys ranked number 1 at some point last year?"...ugg btw, love the Utah Jazz offense we are running. More movement on offense, better entry passes, better shot selection. I am pleasantly surprised.

Why do we lose?

Gary Johnson can't pull his head out of his ***
TT can't hit a free throw
Brown has a major attitude problem
Balbay loves to drive all the way under the basket, jump and then decide what to do

Classic

Win, or lose this is a good learning experience for the Horns. As with most Texas teams, the thing that concerns me most is free throw shooting.

By the way I'm not sure why there's so much hate for Balbay.

Sure he needs to step up and shoot the ball on offense, but he is BY FAR our best perimeter defender. Not to mention he looks like he has a better stroke at the line this year . . . 3-4 tonight so far.

Balbay is solid and a leader. He may not score much, but he plays great defense and knows how to create assists.

Balbay is the best defender on this team. If you want Brown to start over Balbay, you know and understand little about basketball.

Brown wasn't benched just because of the fouls. It was also because he went ballistic every time an official glanced in his direction. That kid is a loose cannon, and his showing up the officials act is going to get us burned at some point. Don't even get me started on the turnovers.

Brown is a better shooter than Balbay and has better vision. That's it. He's a more flashy passer but when half those passes fly out of bounds, that doesn't count for much. Balbay is a better ball-handler, has better speed up and down the floor, and is a much better defender and rebounder. Did anyone notice he led the team in rebounds last night? And FT%.

There's a lot more to being a good PG than having the ability to make 3s and set up teammates for posterizing dunks.

I'm pleased with the win....Thompson is a beast. Jordan looked good, but needs to reign in his shot selection a little bit.

FT are going to cost this team 5-8 games this year.

Unbelievable that a perennial top 10-15 team shoots free throws as poorly as Texas does.

Oh, I see. You have played your entire life so we should take your dimwitted perspective and muddled reasoning seriously.
