Astros World Series

So I'm sure many of you caught this, but the 05 World Series was replayed on the MLB network on Sunday...it makes me sad...I am venting...that is all.

What the hell, you loose they first three games in Houston??? Ok, I am done. Sorry to bring up any bad memories.

Sorry to interrupt your venting, but they didn't lose the first 3 in Houston. The first two were in Chicago, and the Stro's came to Houston in an 0-2 hole. I had tickets to game 5 in Houston, which of course was never played.

Oops. My memory is failing me. Thanks for the correction.

I was at game 3 -- we were leading 4-0 heading into the 5th with Roy O on the mound. I felt pretty good about our chances at that moment.

Then Chicago scored 5.

The Good Guys came back and tied it in the 8th, which lead to a marathon 14 inning game. You already know the result. Those extra innings were torture. A slow, painful death. After Jason Lane tied it with a double in the 8th (yes, that Jason Lane), Houston did not get another hit the rest of the way (with 8 KOs). One last twist of the knife was that Geoff Blum won it with a 2-run HR.

Thanks for bringing it up.

I caught a few minutes of Game 2 where the Fox guys were harping on how positive of an influence Clemens was on Pettitte. Their working out together, mental preparation, etc. Who knew that at the time the influence was more than just that, in hindsight of the Mitchell report.

And BTW, Pettitte's pickoff move to nail Iguchi was a balk.

If you really want to *****, ***** at Fox. Game One should have been called due to the weather, but because Fox had something huge scheduled for the travel day between Games Two and Three, they would not let MLB call it.

Had the game been called, then Oswalt could have started Game One on the next night, and on his regular turn in the rotation.

I don't think personal attacks are supposed to be allowed, but if you think that one instance determined a four game sweep, then I am comfortable with your opinion of me.

I was at game 3. For longsuffering Astros fans it started out so gloriously and ended in typical Houston sports fashion.

i too had tickets to game 5.

i also would have had tickets to game 4 the previous season if we could have beaten the cards

I've been a 'Stros fan for 30 years, but was out of the country for the entire series (why did I have something planned for the week of the WS? did anyone REALLY think the Stros would ever make the WS?)

I followed it on my cell phone, but to this day, I still haven't watched a single inning of that series.

Typical Houston Fans making excuses!!!

The White Sox dominated and ruled 2005!!!!

What a glorious year that was for us White Sox/Longhorn Fans!!!!!!

Open wound, pour salt.

I was at Game 4. If you look at all those games, every one of them was very close, and had critical moments that influenced the outcome of each game. No game in that series was without suspense to the nth degree.

I still think that in Game 4, my man Brandon Backe pitched his guts out, and he should not have been lifted in the 8th for the 'pen to blow it. So we, in theory, would've been down 1-3 going back to Chicago.

As a lifelong Astros fan, I was so happy to at least see my boys in the World Series for once. Unfortunately, I'll probably attend my next Astros WS with a walker or a wheelchair, at this rate.

Might I add my disgust at the White Sux fans that showed up in Houston. They were all a bunch of loud, obnoxious greaseballs, complete with gold chains and unbuttoned jerseys and pinkie rings. They harassed waitresses at the bars and tried to talk smack. Total trash.
