This deal was two or three years too late to really help the 'stros. Oh well. At least they got a little something for next to nothing.

I'd have to hear who the prospects are. Unless they got Singleton or one of the pitchers, Phillies farm system has been traded pretty bare. Oswalt is still a Type A free agent if he leaves. So the Astros should still be able to swing two quality players in return for him at the least.

If so, that's a killer trade. Singleton could very well be the next Jeff Bagwell.

That's less good. I guess it satisfies a need for a major league ready prospect, but with a bit smaller upside.
