Seriously, if I had money I'd buy the 'Stros and re-hire Gerry Hunsicker and give him carte blanche to make all the baseball decisions. Farm system was great when he was there.
Too bad that they ran off Hunsiker, and diverted the $ from scouting and developing talent to hiring aging, pot-bellied stars with a little gas in the tank. Who is being talked about as a potential buyer? Did all that fall completely through?
The farm system is starting to improve, but it's nowhere close to the glory days of the late 90s-early 00s. I think Ed Wade is doing a good job though.
As far as the big club goes, Berkman having knee surgery doesn't bode well. I guess the positive outlook is that they can't lose 163 games.
