Do we have any, and if so, who?
My first thought is all assistants must produce or they will be replaced. However, I think we have 4 guys that are really in need of producing both as recruiters and on the field.
1. Tim Beck - Dude is a witch of a recruiter, even when he was at Ohio State he would kill at recruiting. However, his play calling has been on the level of GDGD. I think he is going to be on a short leash and if the offense is still sputtering, I think he will be relieved of his play-calling duties.
2. Derek Warehime - It's no secret about the woes of the offensive line in both recruiting and in production. He is going to have to produce or he is gone. As of right now I'd call him the weakest link on the offensive staff.
3. Drew Mehringer - Last year he did a pretty good job coaching up the receivers, however he missed on a lot of top talent and that can't happen. He has been assigned to just the inside receivers, if his guys don't perform at a high level he likely gets the Ax.
4. Oscar Giles - Last year he did a fine job of coaching and the dline production was greater than could have been expected. However, his recruiting was so bad we had to get coaches from other positions to help him out. You have to be great at something you you will be out, if the line falters, he is just not a good enough recruiter to keep around.
That is all I got, I think every other coach on this roster has proven themselves enough that as long as they aren't caught in bed with a dead girl or a live boy their jobs are safe.
