Article: Drugs in SAE House at SMU

Living in the Dallas area, I remember the reports of the very tragic death of the young man. I would like to read the rest of the article if anyone knows how to scan it from the mag or cut & paste it somehow.

As an SMU alum, I can tell you that campus is riddled with drugs, particularly that frat house. Maybe more so than your typical college.

Alslo, it's my understaanding that SMU was one of the "beta" sites for ecstasy in the 80s. I will be picking up this issue.

Drugs at a frat house? This is breaking news?

When I was at UT there were plenty of drugs. When I was at South Plains there were drugs. When I as at UNT there were lots of drugs. Pretty much anywhere you have a lot of young people drugs seem to be there too. There is no such thing as an isolated incident.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Finally had a chance to read the article in my Texas Monthly. The part I found really sad was how the kid's parents were kept in the dark so long regarding the details of his death in order to protect the reputations (allegedly of course, but it sure seems that way) of the university as well as other well-connected wealthy families of the other students involved. (the university police aren't required to reveal the details of the investigation , because no crime was deemed to have occured and since it's a private university the report is not part of public record.)
