Merry go round is correct. Forbes has joined the party too!

I think the B12 should look east, not west; however, the BYU addition has been in the air for quite awhile now.

In my mind, BYU suggests that Texas is simply trying to buy time to work out the kinks in the LHN, but who knows?

Maybe BYU is simply the beginning of a long-term (read: more than 10 years) commitment by Texas to the B12.

I'm going to go out on a limb. BYU won't become a part of the B12.

This would be a good start to getting the conference back to being stable. After that, I propose a new Missouri Compromise. Add Louisville to the North and TCU to the South and get the conference back to 12 teams.

One of my friends played center for BYU when Gifford Neilson was the QB. I met Gifford at the news station in Houston when by friend was in town. Great guys, both of them. My friend has been to a few UT games with me, including Texas-OU. The other fans I've met from BYU have been class acts. Nice add if it happens.

BYU is a good addition. Stopping at 10 however is planning our own demise. If this league wants to be viable in 2014 it needs to plan on an BCS conferences with at 14 teams. Seize the day and pick the best of TCU, Lou, WV, SFla, Cincy, AF, Boise and Nevada. (in order of my preference

A net upgrade overall. If they lay the groundwork for stability, it could be a great start to rebuilding the conference. Add BYU, then be selective to get the right 2 to get back to 12.

Not so sure about TCU, but I like the idea of Boise. Sure they don't add many TV sets, but they would add a contender with some flash and dash.

As far as their network is concerned, the Big XII shouldn't mess with it too much because BYU will have the same problem as Colorado. Both would/were the westernmost of the conference and would be very taxing on their travel budget for sports besides football. So its imperative their network generates revenue so they can cover the expenses. Hopefully that all gets ironed out.

BYU would be a great get. Would like to add either Houston or TCU as well.

I don't expect the Big 12 to get too aggressive in who they go after. Most likely they add 1-3 teams, stabilize the league, and then it falls apart eventually within 6 years.

I think the B12 needs to get back to 12 ASAP (with a goal of 14). I like BYU now to get back to 10. Add W.Va. and Louisville to the North and BYU to the South to get back to 12.

I like the BYU add, and agree we need to return to 12 teams total ASAP.

Like above, I like the Boise addition as well. Playing at that abberation of a football field would be distasteful, but I think they might bring more sets nationwide than some think.

At least initially I think lots of fans accross the country would want to see how Boise holds up against a stronger regular schedule. They have already legitimized their ability in OOC games in my opinion.

I'm in the "Never Again" camp for Houston, but TCU works for me & should see a little improvement in their fan support if they can continue their winning seasons a couple of more years. They should also get a positive reaction fan count wise from the stadium upgrades and, this choice fits Mack's desire to keep it local.

On a BYU board all of the talk is abt BYU and Boise signing an 8-year extension this afternoon to play ball, and most posters are afraid that means no B12 for them. Some are saying they will need OOCs for the B12, some say it might mean that both BYU and Boise will be joining the B12. The BYU posters are very eager to join the conference.

One down, three to go.

BYU's never been in a real conference. Bet they're on cloud 9.

Wait till they get a load of this one!
