Arrived in So Cal

Arrived OC/SNA/John Wayne (why does this place have three names?) this morning. Drove through LA, had a World Famous Tommy's Hamburger for lunch...it was awesome. Now in the Glendale Embassy Suites 7 miles from the Rose Bowl. Lots of 'Bama fans here already..not too many Longhorns yet. Somebody get here quick, I need some backup at happy hour tonight. Talked to a Longhorn fan this morning at DFW (he may have had a bloody mary or 10) and he was really, really pissed off because some Alabama fan had called BEVO a "dumb farm animal." I don't know if the Bama guy realized how close he came to getting clocked. Rent car said the temp. is 80 degrees, few clouds, no wind. Same predection for tomorrow. Have not yet seen the local forecast for GAME DAY. I don't know if I can wait 48 hours for this thing to get going...I may explode.
Wife just left to visit a high school friend...gives me a few hours to pound cerveza unencumbered. Sweet. Hook 'Em

yeah, the weather is ******* sweet.

Driving home in OC today at 6 pm my car said 72 degrees.

It's awesome weather for the game.

I advise you to have a few more beers, and call wifey and try to get her to bring her friend back to the room. I'm sure that she'll go for it.

Where are you having beers? There's a cool jazz/blues bar called Red, White & Bluezz hosting a Longhorns dinner with live music all night.

If you want to check out a cool beer bar, go to Lucky Baldwin's. Both places are on Raymond between Colorado and Green st in Pasadena.

After my softball game, I'll be having some brews for sure!

How's that hotel other than having too many Bama fans? I'll be checking into that same Embassy Suites in Glendale late tonight. Leaving Houston this evening at 6:20 but have a stop in Denver so I don't arrive LAX until 10:15 PT. Hopefully more Horns will checkin and it won't be all Bama fans.

Ate at In N Out today and remembered why I wondered what the big deal was. Mediocre, imo.

Hotel is good. Really close to Rose Bowl. We did a reconnisance this morning for parking. Should be able to get there early tomorrow without too much trouble. There is a t shirt war going on here. Rooms that face an inside atrium all have bama or UT shirts hanging in the windows.

I like in and out too. It's just different than Tommys. Actually wife and kids were headed to in and out after they dropped me off at OC airport this afternoon. Back to the real world tomorrow. Bummer.
